Details for Overweight
PropertyValue
NameOverweight
DescriptionBeing overweight can mean many things to different people. In medical terms, being overweight is defined as having a body mass index (BMI) greater than 25kg/m2 and being clinically obese as having a BMI greater than 30. To calculate your BMI, you need to divide your body weight measured in kilograms by the square of your height in metres. So, for example, a person weighing 70kg who is 1.6 metres tall will have a BMI of 27.3 (70 divided by 1.6 x 1.6). Your doctor or practice nurse will be able to help you calculate your BMI.
