Details for Cataracts
PropertyValue
NameCataracts
DescriptionPeople often mistakenly think a cataract is a skin that grows over your eye. In fact, it is a clouding of the lens in the eye that focuses the image onto the retina - the back of the eye. When you have a cataract, the lens clouds over and your vision becomes blurred or dim because light cannot pass through the lens. A cataract is fairly common and over half of people over 65 years have a cataract of some form or other. Most of the time this can treated successfully with surgery.
